If you enjoy the outdoors and looking for a great
summer time activity than you have found it! Take family and friends and experience a fun adventure
packed day on the Middle Raccoon. You'll enjoy the relaxing atmosphere kayaking along wooded hills, twists and turns,
numerous sandbars and a few fast currents on the Middle Raccoon. The rental kayaks are recreational kayaks
which provide a stable float to ensure a good time. Many people associate kayaking as a sport where you constantly are rolling
up and down in the water, this is not the case. With a larger cockpit (you are not strapped in) and flat bottom they provide
more then adequate room to stuff the cooler in the nose of the kayak, drybag behind the seat and just kick back, soak up some
sun and relax. Please DO prepared to get wet, most do whether it's swimming or hitting a boulder sideways going around
some of the bends! These kayaks are rated at a weight limit of 240 lbs. Designed for those looking to relax
and enjoy the water on one of Iowa's protected waterways!
Your adventure will start by meeting us at the
dam in Redfield and we will drive you up river where you will begin the float. We will provide the kayaks, paddles
and PFD's (life jackets). From there you will paddle back down to the dam in Redfield where your vehicle is
parked and head for home. Schedule a day or camp all weekend, we'll take you where you need to be and you do the paddling!
Exit 100 off I/80 and head north to the dam in Redfield (40 minutes
west of Des Moines).
